I started this piece by melting plexiglass with a blowtorch until it curled into these wave shapes. Next I lightly spray painted the back side blue and green.
Clear silicone caulk is applied on the front side using a spoon, creating ripples and flow.
The caulk dries clear. Then it gets dry-brushed with white over the surface to highlight the peaks. I backlit these for this shot to show the translucence.
Here’s where I discovered cotton balls leaning on plexiglass look exactly like clouds.
